Privacy Policy
What this site collects, what it does not, and who else is involved when you click a link.
The short version
The Cam Feeder is a publication, not a service. There are no accounts, no logins and no newsletter. We collect the minimum needed to understand which pages are read and to receive a message if you send us one.
What we collect
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people read and how they arrive. Google collects information such as the pages you visit, the approximate location derived from your IP address, your device and browser type, and the referring site.
This is aggregate audience measurement. We do not use it to identify individuals and we do not attempt to. Google’s handling of that data is governed by its own privacy policy and its terms as a data processor.
We also record when a buy button is clicked - which product, and which page it was clicked from - so we can tell which recommendations people find useful. That event carries no personal information.
The contact form
If you send us a message, we receive the name, email address and message you type, and we use them for the sole purpose of replying. That is it: no list, no marketing, no sharing with anyone.
The form includes basic anti-spam measures: a hidden field that automated submissions tend to fill in, a check on how long the form was open before submission, and a limit on submissions from a single network address per hour. These involve no third-party service and no tracking of you across sites.
What we do not collect
- No accounts, no passwords, no profiles.
- No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies set by us.
- No newsletter list and no marketing email.
- No sale of data to anyone, in any circumstance.
- No payment information - we never take a payment, since purchases happen at the retailer.
Affiliate links
When you click a buy button you pass through a redirect on this site (/go/) and on to the retailer. That redirect exists so each product’s destination lives in one place and can be updated without rewriting an article. It sets no advertising cookie of its own.
The retailer may then set a cookie attributing a subsequent purchase to us, which is how the commission is paid. That cookie and any data collected after you arrive are governed by the retailer’s privacy policy, not this one. Full commercial terms are on the affiliate disclosure page.
Third parties
- Google Analytics - audience measurement, as described above.
- Vercel - hosting. Standard server logs, including IP addresses, are processed as part of serving the site.
- Amazon - product images are loaded from Amazon’s content network and affiliate links lead to Amazon. Both are subject to Amazon’s own privacy terms.
- Microsoft - the contact form delivers your message by email through Microsoft’s service.
Your choices
- Analytics. Browser settings, tracking-protection features and extensions all block Google Analytics effectively. The site works normally without it.
- Affiliate links. You are never obliged to use them. Search for the product directly if you prefer - our recommendations are the same either way.
- The contact form. Entirely optional. Email us directly at info@thecamfeeder.com if you would rather.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or to object to its processing. In practice the only personal information we hold is a message you have sent us. Email info@thecamfeeder.com and we will deal with it.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes will be described on the page rather than made quietly.
