Birdfy makes bird cameras and added a fountain. LongPlus makes solar fountains and added a camera. Both products end up looking similar on a listing, and that difference in origin predicts most of what separates them.

Color night vision is the interesting claim. Most cameras in this category fall back to infrared after dusk, which turns everything gray. Color at night on a water source is genuinely useful, because a bird bath gets visitors that a feeder does not - and some of them are not birds.
This exists on the page because the smart bird bath category has essentially one incumbent, and a market with one product in it is a market where the buyer has no leverage. LongPlus at least gives you a second quote.
Very little is published, which is the pattern with newer entrants. Treat the specification list as shorter than the marketing copy suggests.

Birdfy sells this bath in AI-lifetime and AI-by-subscription trims, and they look near-identical on a listing page. Check which one is in your cart before you buy - it is the single most consequential difference and it is easy to miss.
Lifetime AI on a bath matters more than on a feeder, because bath visitors are the species you are least likely to recognize. A thrush at a fountain is a harder identification than a cardinal at a hopper.

Where Birdfy wins, which is most places
The dual lenses, first. Birds use the whole basin rather than a fixed perch, so a single camera misses a substantial share of what happens - this is the same geometry problem that makes a single-lens hummingbird feeder frustrating, and Birdfy is the only maker in either category that has responded to it.
The app, second. Identification is the reason to buy a camera bath rather than a plain one, and it is a software problem that a company already running it across a feeder range is better placed to solve than a fountain manufacturer.
And the subscription position, third: Birdfy states its terms, including a no-subscription claim and a lifetime option. LongPlus says nothing on its listing, and silence is not the same as free - a distinction we treat seriously enough to have built a whole roundup around.
Where LongPlus has a case
The fountain itself. This is the company's actual product, and there is a reasonable argument that the pump, the panel and the water handling on a dedicated solar fountain are better sorted than on a camera company's first attempt at one. If the fountain fails, the bath is a still basin regardless of how many lenses are pointed at it.
It is also the cheaper way to find out whether you want a camera on your water at all, and a category with one supplier is worse for buyers than one with two. That is the main reason it is in the roundup rather than omitted.
The recommendation
Buy the Birdfy. The camera is the reason you are buying a camera bath, and Birdfy is better at cameras - the dual lenses and the established identification are worth more than a better-engineered pump. If you are specifically buying a fountain and would merely tolerate a camera, that inverts, and you should probably buy a good plain fountain instead.
And if you are choosing between a bath and a feeder rather than between these two, start with the feeder - it is the busier, easier, year-round purchase.
